Moore County has a burgeoning culture of entrepreneurship that can be cultivated to drive economic recovery and resiliency in distressed areas of the county. That culture of entrepreneurship is supported by a local and regional talent pipeline, exiting and retiring military, higher education institutions, and a regional entrepreneurship network. What has been missing is a local facility and programming to connect entrepreneurs to resources and to each other. Creative EDC performed a Feasibility Analysis for an entrepreneurship hub in Moore County. We found it feasible, along with local and regional support, positive trends of growth in self-employment and innovation, and growing demand for startup space.
The goals of the entrepreneurship hub in Moore County include:
- Grow and develop and publicize the entrepreneurial ecosystem and startup culture in Moore County, especially in distressed areas.
- Foster new business startups and small business growth.
- Leverage a central Entrepreneurship Hub to advance the overall economic development efforts of Moore County.
