The Downtown Market and Real Estate Redevelopment Study helped the Town of Woodstock and property owners understand the redevelopment potential of two buildings. Creative EDC assessed two properties with buildings in downtown Woodstock. The research included GIS analysis, owner interviews, site visit, and local market analysis. The local and regional market was researched to identify trends and opportunities for new and expanded retail, restaurants, and services. Recommendations on redevelopment uses, marketing the properties, and town investments were made. Additionally, Creative EDC analyzed town, county, and state incentive policies that could support new businesses in these two locations.
This study and research can be used by the town when applying for additional grants to support redevelopment. This project was supported by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and an Industrial Revitalization Fund Planning Grant.
