Through the Commonwealth Regional Council, seven Virginia localities engaged Creative EDC to advise on structuring a new regional economic development organization (REDO) and to develop a strategic plan for the new REDO. The timing was right for the seven counties to work together to advance the economic prospects of the region. By adding capacity to local economic development efforts, the region can better prepare for job growth and new investment, support start-up businesses and existing employers, and work together to plan for and fund needed infrastructure to increase the competitiveness of this region.
After Creative EDC delivered the strategic plan and organizational development recommendations, Convergent Nonprofit Solutions was engaged to conduct a fundraising feasibility study. That study was positive. The Commonwealth Regional Council and localities are now building the foundation to raise funds to startup the organization and implement the strategic plan.
