Chatham County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) undertook a competitive position analysis to define the county’s position to attract new investment and retain expanding companies. Recent record-setting private sector announcements in Chatham County could leave the impression on businesses looking to relocate or expand that there is no more room for new development – that the county is closed. However, with thousands of acres of industrial land and a regional workforce of over two million, the research found that the county’s competitive position is strong. The analysis included research in talent, housing, sites and buildings, growth trends, location, and quality of life.
To leverage the strong competitive position, we recommended a wide range of marketing and communications strategies. Audiences were defined, example content developed, and deployment strategies recommended.
Chatham County is currently implementing the recommendations by integrating the competitive position information in external and internal marketing and communications.
